History can
be controversial, and the history of a struggle
such as the American Civil War can easily, by its very nature, be
especially
controversial. This part of the website
contains links to discussions I have produced (with one exception, done
by a
friend) regarding books on the Civil War that have not measured up, in
my
opinion, in terms of accuracy or quality of scholarship.
One has to be careful in doing
this. I am certain that the people who
wrote these
books did so entirely out of a good faith belief that they were doing
sound
work. They had every right to compose
these works and publish their conclusions and reap whatever rewards
they were
able to earn. (One might criticize the
judgment of the editors who thought it was a good idea to publish these
books,
but I won’t do that.) In the same way,
anyone else (such as the present Author/Publisher) has the right to
compose and
publish criticisms or rebuttals to their work.
So, what do
we have here?
Others will appear as they are finished.
