Sam's page

Sam (Generalette Samantha Grant) was acquired through Great Lakes Border Collie Rescue, shortly after we moved into our Ann Arbor house in 2003.  She was not a pure Border Collie, there was clearly a "fence jumper" of some kind (Keeshond or Samoyed) in her background, but we did not care.  She literally adopted us---when we went to where she was being fostered, as soon as she was let out of her crate, she went to our minivan (we had left the side door open), jumped in, and made it very clear she was not leaving!  She could be aggressive, but not in a bad way---she simply objected to anyone (human or canine) walking on the sidewalk in front of our house.  She was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2014, fought through it for over two years, but took her last trip to the vet in 2016.

This is Sam's "adoption picture," as Evie, the one on the GLBCR website that got our attention.

Sam kept digging up our TV cable, and we tried to get her on the "Dog-Shaming" website, but I don't think she was ever accepted.

Sam liked to pose for pictures.  This is a good one.

Sam fought a bladder cancer issue late in her life, and was often tired as a result.  But she was still a sweetheart.
